Hamas and Israel in One Cartoon

In 2014 A F Branco published this gem

In case one suspects that there's some exaggeration of the Hamas demands, there's this quote from the Hamas Covenant

The Prophet, Allah bless him and grant him salvation, has said:

"The Day of Judgement will not come about until Moslems fight the Jews (killing the Jews), when the Jew will hide behind stones and trees. The stones and trees will say O Moslems, O Abdulla, there is a Jew behind me, come and kill him. Only the Gharkad tree, (evidently a certain kind of tree) would not do that because it is one of the trees of the Jews."

Killing Jews around the world remains a core mission of Hamas. For example, in 2019 a senior Hamas leader called on his "brothers,"

"Seven million Palestinians outside, enough warming up, you have Jews with you in every place. You should attack every Jew possible in all the world and kill them."

There is often talk of a two-state division of the Holy Land. That may be fine. But what about when one of the parties is only interested in a "one-state" situation and a final solution?

New Gun Laws Will Impact Freedom of Speech and Thought

The Bill will effectively legislate away a person’s right to silence, and their property rights. It presumes guilt by association, discriminates on the basis of health or disability, and challenges the right to free speech and freedom of opinion. " "... the Firearms Bill’s Section 368 threatens any person with a fine if they do not “answer any question asked by a police officer under this Act.. this applies to all people, not only firearms owners, and would therefore, strip them of their right to silence. " " Section 150 allows the WA police commissioner to have regard to “the person’s views, opinions and attitudes. Free speech and freedom of thought are at the bedrock of ou...

"Pharisees of the New Age: Environmentalists and How They Went Wrong."

I have written a piece for the Dawson Centre, titled,  Pharisees of the New Age:  Environmentalists and How They Went Wrong.  It's in the centre's newsletter (about 1/2 way down the page). I wrote it after it struck me that both the environmental and Pharisee movements started out with good intentions but they became corrupted and they neglected their original mission. https://www.dawsoncentre.org/newsletter/summer-schools-2023/
